Cruise Passengers

PIER PICKUP & ESCORT
Your guide or a crew member will meet you at the cruise ship pier holding a sign with your last name. From there, enjoy a short walk to our downtown marina and outfitting area—conveniently located near the port.

LICENSING & GEAR-UP
Once at the marina, your guide will assist with a quick fishing license form and collect the state fee. While we process that, you’ll be outfitted with waterproof boots, bib overalls, hooded jackets, hats, and gloves—everything you need to stay dry and comfortable.

BOAT RIDE TO THE FISHING GROUNDS
Enjoy a short 20–30 minute ride to the fishing grounds. Along the way, spot eagles, seals, whales, or even bears as you cruise through some of Alaska’s most scenic waters.

FISHING
Spend the next few hours fishing for salmon, rockfish, cod, flounder and more with help from your guide. Learn local techniques and enjoy the thrill of the catch in some of Southeast Alaska’s most bountiful waters.

GOURMET CAMPFIRE DINING
At camp, our chef will transform your fresh catch into a gourmet meal. Enjoy the flavors of Alaska alongside our signature rhubarb-blueberry crisp and hot chocolate or coffee—surrounded by the scent of cedar trees.

While your catch is being prepared, take a moment to explore the nearby beach. Discover starfish, crabs, and natural treasures as you stroll the quiet shoreline of this serene island.

RETURN TO PORT
Cruise back to the marina with more stunning views to cap off the trip. Once ashore, your guide will ensure you're back at the ship on time. Want to send your fish home? We’ll handle prepping, packing, and shipping it for delivery on your preferred date.

    What should I bring on the Wilderness Dining excursion?

    Just bring sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable clothing. We recommend layers and wool items for warmth. All fishing gear and safety equipment will be provided. Don’t forget your phone to take pictures!

    Is the food provided for the excursion?

    Yes! You’ll enjoy a gourmet meal made from your freshly caught fish, along with our signature rhubarb-blueberry crisp. Hot beverages like coffee or hot chocolate will also be available.

    How long is the ride out from Ketchikan?

    The rich fishing grounds of Ketchikan are very close to our marina; only about a 15 minute boat ride depending on which area your guide takes you to. Our camp is only a small distance from the fishing grounds, tucked away in a serene spot surrounded by nature.

    What fish can I expect to catch?

    Depending on the season, you'll likely catch salmon, rockfish, cod, flounder and other Alaskan species. Our guides will ensure you have the best bait and techniques for success.
