Schedule

Cruise Passengers

PIER PICKUP & ESCORT
Your guide or a crew member will meet you at the cruise ship pier holding a sign with your name. From there, enjoy a short walk to our downtown marina and outfitting area – conveniently located near the port.

LICENSING & GEAR-UP
Once at the marina, your guide will assist with a quick fishing license form and collect the state fee. While we process that, you’ll be outfitted with waterproof boots, bib overalls, hooded jackets, hats, and gloves – everything you need to stay dry and comfortable.

SCENIC RIDE TO THE FISHING GROUNDS
After boarding your boat, enjoy a 10–20 minute cruise to prime fishing waters just south of Ketchikan. Along the way, keep your eyes open for eagles, seals, whales, and even black bears.

FISHING EXPERIENCE
Spend the next few hours trolling or mooching for King, Coho, or Pink Salmon. Your expert guide will walk you through the techniques and gear, so whether it’s your first time or your fiftieth, you’re set up for success and fun.

RETURN TO PORT
Cruise back to the marina with more stunning views to cap off the trip. Once ashore, your guide will ensure you're back at the ship on time. Want to send your fish home? We’ll help with shipping, smoking, or prepping it for delivery on your preferred date.

Calm Waters,

Constant Action

Protected by island chains, Ketchikan’s fishing grounds offer a smooth ride even on days when the open ocean isn’t friendly. If you’ve ever skipped deep-sea fishing because of rough waters, this is your chance to experience it comfortably.

FAQ

What should I bring on the Salmon Fishing excursion?

We recommend dressing in warm layers and bringing a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. We provide all fishing gear and rain gear, so you’re covered no matter the weather.

What kind of salmon can I catch?

Depending on the season, you might catch king (chinook), coho (silver), pink (humpy), chum, or sockeye salmon. Your guide will focus on what’s most abundant and biting that day.

Can I keep what I catch?

Absolutely! We’ll help you arrange to have your catch professionally processed, flash-frozen, and shipped to your home.

How long is the trip?

The Salmon Fishing excursion typically lasts 5–6 hours, giving you ample time to chase your catch across the Ketchikan coast. This can always be customized; if you’re in town with a cruise line, we’ll make sure you have time to get back to your ship.

Will I have to share a rod?

No - every guest fishes with their own rod to ensure the best possible experience.

Are there any additional fees?

There’s a $15 fee for your fishing license, which may be purchased online in advance. Additional fees may apply for a king salmon stamp, which will be assessed at checkout or with your guide prior to departure.
