Booked the trip through Regent Cruise Lines as a side and was pleasantly surprised. I am a retired captain that has run a lot of fishing charters and this one was exceptional. The captain/guide knew his stuff, that is how to fish and run a good enjoyable trip. Even though it was raining and we were in an open skiff, we were comfortable with the rain gear provided. The fishing tackle was first rate as was all of the equipment. Unfortunately, the guide did not have a card and I cannot remember his name or I would recommend him highly. The final part of our trip was to a wilderness camp where an excellent chef prepared our fish. We got to meet others that had booked this expedition and all seemed more than satisfied. The Coho salmon and rockfish I caught was fantastic. I would recommend this outfit to anyone looking for a great fishing experience.

My wife and I enjoyed our Wilderness camp meal, complete with a bouquet of flowers and Champagne compliments of Baranof! Owen and Tyler did a commendable job making us feel special! Owen expertly fillet our fish and Tyler cooked it to perfection! The bonus was the bald Eagles on the Island.

My son (15 yrs old) and I chartered a fishing trip through Baranof in July. From the captain meeting us right at our cruise ship, throughout the entire day fishing, he made it fun, informative and super easy - even for fairly novice fishermen like us. We caught lots rock fish, halibut, and had a great time all around. I highly recommend Baranof!

I was fortunate enough to be able to go out on my own with a guide after a group of four canceled inside of the refund deadline. We tried fishing for salmon in a channel to the southwest, but ran into a pod of orca’s. No fish would be found near them and less it was in their mouth or stomach! LOL. So we turned east and went to another channel where I caught a very small King Salmon. A real cutie! Then we headed south and fished at a depth of 256 feet, bottom jigging for halibut. After about 30 minutes of that, my arms are getting tired and I had not had a bite. We saw a few humpback whales spouting in the distance and many eagles. From there we headed back towards town stopping along the way to do some rock fish jigging. I caught for in pretty short order, returning them all to the sea. Three different varieties of rockfish in fact. We would’ve had better fishing earlier in the season, but it was pretty awesome to be out in great weather in late September. We even saw a deer swimming a channel between islands. It was a black tail Sitka deer. It was swimming slow, but effortlessly. A very unusual sight! I have to highly recommend Baranof. Doing a fishing excursion is the way to go, as you can often see whales and other wildlife like I did while you are fishing or heading from one spot to another. Why just settle for wildlife viewing when you can fish as well?!

Found them on Trip advisor. Booking over the Phone was simple and straightforward. I came on a cruise and tendered in Ketchikan. Because the cruise ship was late tendering, I missed the first hour of the trip. I booked as a single passenger as my wife gets sea sick easily. I was expecting to be one of 5 or 6 guests on the boat, but when I arrived at the dock, he said I was the only one scheduled on the boat. So I got a solo trip for the price of a shared boat. Had an amazing time seeing whales and eagles and other wildlife. Caught a halibut, 2 black cod, and 5 salmon, although 3 were too small to keep. I had the fish cleaned and shipped back to California, although the processing fee was a little more than I was quoted. All in all, it was an amazing experience and I would definitely go back. Oh and the sack lunches were great!

We saw whales, eagles, sea lions. We caught a bunch of fish. Sam was an excellent guide with a lot of great local knowledge. The food was out of this world delicious. I'm not a fan of salmon, but when it is this fresh and cooked this way, it's super yummy. This was our most memorable outing. Thanks Sam!

Our party of four wanted to do some fishing while in Alaska on our cruise. Baranof's met us right at the gangway to our ship and escorted us the short walk to their docks. They provided bibs and waders, all the poles, gear and bait - even a nice snack to have on board. We really wanted to catch some salmon, but the salmon weren't biting. We did catch some halibut and cod though. The captain was great about keeping our lines working and giving us tips and moving around to try and find the fish. We enjoyed being out at sea, taking in the scenery and nice weather, and catching what we did. The timetable on our cruise departure had shifted, and he was great about getting us back to the dock in plenty of time to board our ship. When you arrive back at their docks hey hang your fish up on the racks and take your photo by them, so that was fun to have. We did pay to have the fish cleaned and frozen and shipped to us, and everything was just how we wanted it, and the pricing on that was very reasonable. All in all a fun and relaxing day spent in Alaska

Great fishing trip with my dad and sons.Sam meet us at the dock geared us up and got us on the water fast. We went straight to the fish caught three as soon as our hooks hit the water.I will have to say Sam knew exactly where to go and what was biting. After a few hours of fishing we meet up with Drew the cook at camp and he grilled our catch while we waited. The food was delicious. We had a great time and would definitely go again if we ever get back to Alaska.

After saving up for a cruise of a life time- Disney Cruise to Alaska, I wanted to also include a life long dream of fishing Alaska. I booked an excursion to fish in Ketchikan at the Baranof Fishing Excursions. Hunting for Halibut! WOW! What a dream come true! Off the ship a quick meet and greet from my captain of my fishing boat and then off to be outfitted, boots bib, everything else needed. We went off to fish with all the gear needed supplied and gear in great shape! Fantastic scenery to fishing grounds and then GREAT Fishing! Upon return they packed and shipped my fish home for me and I started dreaming of coming again. I did, I went again to fish here a couple years later and it was Dream come true ...TWICE! I'm planning and saving up for another trip here!

Fantastic experience, came here off of the Norwegian Bliss and our first stop going through Alaska. Had Sam, first year guide, and what a treat knowing this area was basically his backyard growing up. He brought us to the best fishing spots where I immediately caught myself a nice 32" lingcod, and my boyfriend a nice sized yellow fin. The rest of the trip was bringing in more but the pressure was off in catching our part of the meal coming up so we got to do a little bit of every thing. We booked this excursion directly with the company, bypassing the cruise which worked out perfect. It was just my boyfriend and I with the guide so really had a nice personable experience, for much cheaper!
